TIPS FOR OPTIMUM
WIRE BRUSH DEBURRING
Improper deburring brush set up will result
in shorter brush life and a poor quality product. With the
proper brush set up you will get superior results, a better
quality end product, longer brush life and a happier customer.
The following tips will ensure that you get the best possible
results from your wire brush machine and increase your brush
life.
1. For normal burr removal, the centerline
of the tube should be lined up with the centerline of the
wire brush.
2. When the burr is mostly on the outside
edge of the tube or when deburring solid bars, the centerline
of the tube/bar should be below the centerline of the deburring
brush. (raise the height of the wire brush through height
adjustment levers).
3. When the burr is mostly on the inside edge
of the tube, the centerline of the tube should be above
the centerline of the deburring brush (lower the height
of the wire brush through height adjustment levers).
4. Remember to ease up on the brush. Just
the tips of the deburring brush should be touching the tube.
“Cranking in” on the wire brush with the thought
of “more is better” does not work and causes
premature brush wear. Let the deburring brush do its job.
5. When cutting larger diameter sizes go
to a deburring brush with a heavier, more aggressive wire.
6. Make sure that your deburring brushes are
set parallel to each other before you run the machine. This
ensures proper, even wire brush wear to give you optimum
brush life. |
